First Date with a Polish Girl - What to do
A first date with anyone at all can be quite a thrilling and nervous experience and more often than not it may feel awkward. If you've been chatting online before you meet then express any fears you have about this to your Polish girl before-hand. This way she will not be put off by any quiet pauses or take shyness as a sign that you're not interested. Starting with an open and honest line of communication is vital in any relationship, and no more so when there are two separate cultures merging together.
When you meet or pick up your Polish girl for your first date it is important to bring a token of appreciation. While this may seem odd at first, this can mean nothing more than a fresh flower purchased or picked and ready for her to accept. It shows that you are serious in the experience with her and have had some forethought about the evening or daytime date. It'll make your Polish girl feel wanted and important before you even say a single word. It is customary to bring gifts if you visit someone's home and this is no different.
Think back a few decades to the height of male chivalry in Western culture. This man is who you want to emulate now. Opening doors, paying for meals or entry fees and generally being a kind and thoughtful gentleman will give a good impression of your character to your Polish girl. Pull out a chair and let her order first from the menu - don't order for her as this is arrogant and presumptuous and will not reflect well on you no matter how well you may know the restaurant and its food.
If you do not yet speak the language then it is a great idea to learn some specific words that you can use to initiate conversation. If you get stuck then you can ask for assistance in your pronunciation and be self-deprecating in your feeble attempts to speak clear Polish. Learn the basic words you'll need on the date like hello and goodbye, please and thank you as well as any other obvious words and phrases for where you intend to take her. This will allow you to be in control and do the major conversing with staff at venues, restaurants and even when ordering drinks in a club.
Don't expect any intimate romantic contact on the first date. Polish women will not allow you to progress to a sexual relationship within hours and this may in fact take days or weeks. As Catholicism is the predominant religion of the country you might even find that there is little chance of any intimacy before marriage. This is really something you should try to discuss when your relationship is at a level of comfort that you can do so without causing offence, so that you both know exactly where you stand on this issue and that you're compatible here.
Generally a first date is going to be a bit weird and that is perfectly normal. By remaining a gentleman and following some basic rules of Polish culture you'll be able to create a lovely date with your Polish girl that should present you in the best light and allow her to see you as you really are.
